I am a 25 year old male, met with an accident this morning. I was riding a bike which fell down on right side, shoulder and elbow are paining severely just able to move a bit, however there is a small external injury. My shoulder is not moving firmly with elbow. I have seen a doctor near by as advised by him I have to keep my arm in arm sling for a week. Can you please advise any other alternative to this as the pain is unbearable (got confirmed that this is not a fracture) Your urgent advice would be appreciated.

No movements would help now, the more you move your shoulder the more it will pain. Rest is the only advice for shoulder joint. Movements at elbow and wrist and fingers can be continued. Ice application at swelling site is preferable. Movements at shoulder can be resumed once pain has come down. Take care.

Hi, I have clavicle fracture on my right shoulder collar bone in middle part. I wear shoulder sling to heal that fractured bone, how long does it take for this fracture to heal properly? Do I need to wear arm support along with sling regularly? And healing of bone is n not visible in xray even after three weeks, is it normal? Please let me know.

It usually take 3-4 months for a visible fracture union in an Xray But do not worry In a clavicle fracture usually 4-6 weeks of brace is sufficient for early pain relief and rehabilitation then on you will be free of d brace Good luck.

I had shoulder dislocation my doctor has told to put sling for one month is it really required for this much duration as I am feeling ok it has been one week I am wearing sling.
