Hello lybrate-user, growth hormone is responsible for increase in height. Production of growth hormone gradually decreases as the age increases. But you can definitely employ some measures to improve your height as in males growth ceases between 18 -21 years.
And again though having a good height is usually a genetic predisposition but nutrition and other factors can influence few more inches.
Certain measures to increase the production of growth hormones are-
1. Increase your intake of vitamin c containing fruits like -oranges, sweet limes, lemon, grapefruit, indian goose berries, etc.

4. Adequate sleep- sleep plays a major role in increasing height as production of growth hormone is maximum during first two hours of sleep. Hence don't eat heavy meals within two hours of going to sleep otherwise the excesa insulin released due to heavy meals will hamper the effects of growth hormones. Eight hours of sound sleep is sufficient to gain advantage.
5. Maintain correct posture while walking and sitting.
6. Yoga- certain yoga asnas are very effective in increasing height as it stretches entire body.

* sarvangasana.
