DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) is vital for brain and eye development of foetus during pregnancy, and reduces risk for early preterm birth, which is associated with poor neurocognitive outcomes and maternal depression. Folic acid is essential to numerous bodily functions ranging from nucleotide biosynthesis to the remethylation of homocysteine. It is especially important during periods of rapid cell division and growth. Both children and adults require folic acid to produce healthy red blood cells and prevent anemia.

Hello and welcome to Lybrate. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Please do not give any medicine to a pregnant lady without consulting her gynecologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care
regards.
don't stress too much on DHA these are marketing gimmick for food supplements, just don't restrict mother from having any kind of food. she is currently in very labile mind. support her as much as you can. so that she can concentrate on breastfeeding. exclusively breastfed babies usually have more IQ ,
1. Please give natural healthy foods only to your child.
2. No food or pills can make any child genious.
3. Want your child needs is your constant love and support. 4. Such extreme expectations of making a 10 month child into genius will be harmful for both you and your child.
5. Please relax and enjoy parenting and let your child be happy and healthy.

You don't have to give any medicine for these nutrients to a child. A balanced food can provide everything. Give him natural food like home squeezed fruit juice, green vegetable soups and daal. It will provide everything.
