Initially you can take a painkiller like naproxen 500 mg twice daily after food and fastum gel application three times daily. Once pain is under control, start walking half an hour daily. Weight loss is the most important treatment for your knees. Also you need vitamin d and iron supplements.

lybrate-user, You are very young and taking too many medications. According to me Whey is enough. And the best natural way to keep our metabolism running is regular daily exercise (not to overdo) combined with control in diet (again don't overdo. Balance and regularity is required.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Well you are actually confusing two different issues, one is osteopenia which is decrease in density of bone as compared to normal. Other is osteoarthritis of knees for which you have been prescribed lubrijoint. You can continue with lubrijoint but mainstay of management will remain intensive physical therapy, daily brisk walks for 2-3 km per day, adequate calcium and vitamin d intake and maintaining an active and a healthy lifestyle. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
