Fever is symptom of disease. For temporary relief, do tepid water sponging and keep baby well hydrated by giving plenty of fluid and consult doctor for proper remedy.
You should follow certain guidelines like only breast feeding for first six months, avoid visitors, no ghutti, gripe water, no Kajal , no talc powder. If baby is crying excessively then you should consult a doctor

It is difficult to tell how much this lotion is useful for the condition! I suppose whole body skin is not dry. If it is so consult either pediatrician or skin specialist. Otherwise you may use white petroleum jelly ie vasiline.
