Whey protein is considered a complete protein and contains all 9 essential amino acids and is low in lactose content. People commonly use it as supplementation, alongside resistance exercise, to help improve muscle protein synthesis and promote the growth of lean tissue mass. Whey digests very rapidly. In fewer than 30 minutes it can fast-track a good portion of its aminos to your muscles, and that rapid delivery of amino acids to muscle cells has been shown to be important for pushing muscle growth.

Mr. lybrate-user Kumar, Thanks for the query. Any protein supplement that contains least amount of carbohydrate or nil carb is better. There are quite a few preparations giving 60 to 80% protein, low fat and almost nil carbs, You can select any one of those. Whey protein is a good supplement. Even soy protein is also good. Thanks. Thanks.

Average person's body fat% ranges from 14-20%. You need to have balanced diet 50% Carbs, 25% Proteins and 25% Fats. If you drastically cut down carbs, you will lose essential nutrients. Such crash diets eventually will crash and you will be back to your original weight after a few weeks and months. I have seen many people try such exotic diets but it never works in long run. Core issue is poor eating habits and lack of exercise. Unless you change this, things will not work out. Aim for health and fitness. That's the only way to a permanent change.

If you are working out in the gym then 3 days of weight training and 3 days of cardio. The workout is generally progressive in 3 stages..beginners, intermediate and advance. You must do your cardio max for 30 to 45 min. and weight training depending on your intensity it can go from 1 hour to 1 n 1/2 hour. Whey protein powders are very beneficial as it is a fast absorbed protein and if taken after a training session, it helps in muscle recovery and hence building up muscles. Along with this you have to eat clean. No junk food. Your diet should comprise of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, whey protein powder healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, bread. Drink a lot of water.

Are you doing weight training at gym. Then do it 2-3 times (alternate days not consecutive days) a week with at least 48 hours in between 2 sessions. You need to take whey protein (by whatever name it comes. But it should contain 80% whey protein in it. E.g. For 30 gms it should have atleast 24 grams (80%) of protein.) use it only on the day you gym (within 10 mins of exercise). Dose is 30gms. For more details you can consult me.
