About Topifort-NX Topical Solution

This medication is composed of Clotrimazole, Clobetasol and Neomycin. It is used for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin such as athlete’s foot, ringworm and jock itch. Apart from treating the infection, it also reduces the symptoms of such skin infections, such as burning, itching and cracking of the skin.

The drug works by disrupting the cell membrane formation of the fungal infection. This eventually causes the fungus to perish. The solution is safe to use for children. However, some unforeseen effects may affect pregnant women as the cream is absorbed under the skin.

    The medication is an Aminoglycosides. It binds itself to 30S-subunit proteins and also 16S rRNA. It attaches irreversibly to a total of four nucleotides of 16S rRNA and one protein S12 amino acid. This causes interference when it comes to decoding the site. It works as an anti-inflammatory by inhibiting the metabolism of arachidonic acid by inhibiting phospholipase A2 thus inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. The drug has both fungistatic and fungicidal actions. It binds to phospholipids in the fungal cell membrane and alters its permeability.
