About Contrapaque 350Mg Infusion

Being a contrast media agent Contrapaque 350Mg Infusion is used prior to x-ray tests and adds contrasts to body parts in the x-ray images. It contains iodine and can be given orally or injected. It can be also placed in the bladder or rectum. It improves the images during CT scan also and helps the doctor in diagnosing the problem. It is an iodinated nonionic radiocontrast agent. Contrapaque 350Mg Infusion is available in various concentrations and is administered and used according to the need of the image.

Contrapaque 350Mg Infusion has a few side effects as well and proper precautions are necessary before using this radio contrast agent. When used wrongly or over dosed it may result in diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, head ache, stomach pain etc. Though very serious allergic reactions to this drug is rare but any kind of abnormalities in the body after consuming this should be duly reported to the physician. It must not be administered into patients who are having serious or mild iodine allergy. If used in a pregnant woman it may become the cause of hypothyroidism in the baby.
