This leads to expansion and destabilization of the bacterial DNA and causes cell death. It also binds itself to 30S-subunit proteins and also 16S rRNA. It attaches irreversibly to a total of four nucleotides of 16S rRNA and one protein S12 amino acid. This causes interference when it comes to decoding the site.
