Runny nose is a condition which begins when the mucus present in the nose starts to get discharged and drips out of the nose and this condition starts because of any of the following problems which are flu, allergies, colder outdoor temperatures or cold.   • This condition of runny nose is caused by a flu or cold that is usually accompanied with sore throat, facial tightness, cough, fatigue and sometimes you may have fever
  • You will be experience certain problems altogether which are runny nose, congested nose or stuffy nose, when the tissue lining of the nose has become swollen it leads to the problem of congestion and the swelling of the nose happens because of the inflammation happened in the blood vessels
  • When the cause of this problem is because of any kind of allergy then it will be accompanied by sneezing, itchy and watery eyes

  • You should eat spicy food
  • You should start drinking a lot of fluid
  • Start using a humidifier
  • Start using essential oils
  • You should start the application of moist and warm washcloth several times on your face
  • You should start taking hot shower
  • Start inhaling steam 2 to 4 times a day
  • Start using a neti pot (a container that is designed specifically for the rinsing of mucus or debris from your nasal cavity)
  • Start using a nasal spray: Make a mixture of water, salt and little bit of baking soda and this is to be used 3 to 4 times in a day which will help you to get rid of this problem of running nose
  • Hot teas: It is a known fact that liquids which are hot helps in relieving the conditions such as congestion, soothes your throat membrane as well as your nose, helps you in fighting viral infection and keeps your body hydrated. Mentioned below are some of the most beneficial teas: 
  • Golden milk: You can add a little bit of turmeric in your hot milk and you should mix it just before drinking.
  • Ginger tea: You should take fresh or powdered form of ginger and boli this along with water and let it stand for sometime and then drink it.
  • Garlic tea: Beverages which are hot for instance lemon tea can be made along with a significant quantity of onion or garlic included in it. Although the taste of the tea will not be pleasing but it will help you to fight the infection.

  • Hot soups: Just like hot teas, hot soups can help you to get past the problem of congestion, soothe your membranes which have got inflamed and above that it provides essential nutrients which will prepare and help your body to fight against any kind of illness. The worldwide classic hot soup of chicken noodle soup is considered very effective in the treatment of running nose and congestion. Some of the other and effective soups that you can take are listed below: 
  • Vegetable soup: It is a very simple and basic soup which consists of vegetables and a little amount of spice is mixed into it.
  • Lugaw: It is a form of rice porridge which is cooked along with ginger and chicken and this is also known as the comfort healing food in the Philippines.
  • Congee: It is a traditional Chinese soup that is made from the stock or water along with rice in it. You can also add some useful and different ingredients in it and the majority of the people like this soup along with their breakfast but you can eat this soup several times a day.
  • Chicken and vegetable soup: It is also known as the go, grow, glow soup because it gives you the protein and other food products that help you to boost your energy level and also protect your body from any kind of infection.
