Castor oil and tea tree oil are very beneficial in relieving boils. Castor oil weakens the boil and pulls out the pus while tea tree oil can help it dry. To use castor oil put 5-7 drops of oil on a cotton wad and hold in place over the boil with the help of a band-aid. This can be reapplied daily. When using tea tree oil, 1-2 drops of the oil can be applied directly into the skin after a bath. Tea tree oil can also help relieve other types of skin rashes.

Turmeric can be used not only to flavor food but also to treat skin condition such as boils. This is because it has a number of antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. To use this spice to treat boils, dry roast a little turmeric powder and mix with water to form a paste. Apply this on the boil and rinse off when dry. This paste can be reapplied every 4-5 hours and the boil should clear out in 3-4 days. You can also make a paste of turmeric and milk.

Slicing a lemon and placing it in a bottle of water is a great way to flavor your water and benefit from the healing properties of lemons.

Betel nut leaves or paan leaves can be very helpful when treating boils as it helps the boil mature faster and releases its puss. To use these leaves tear or more leaves into small pieces and boil with half a cup of water for about 10 minutes. Once cooled, blend this mixture together to form a paste. Apply this paste on the boils and cover with a piece of cloth. This can be repeated twice a week.
