Padahastasana is an asana that allows the vata dosha to flow through the body and keeps it from being accumulated in one place. It is also beneficial in cases of lower backache caused by constipation as it makes it easier for the body to pass stool. To practice this asana, begin by standing straight with your feet together. While inhaling, raise your arms upwards with both palms facing ahead. Next, exhale and bend your body forwards while keeping both knees straight so that your hands can touch your feet.
