On the other hand, various other forms of chocolate contain high quantities of milk which is harmful for those who suffer from acne. Milk and other dairy products are filled with growth hormones which are bad for skin and their consumption leads to heavy eruptions of pimples and acne. This is particularly true for those who are lactose intolerant.

Washing your face too frequently will strip the skin of its natural oils and make it dry, which in turn irritates the skin and increases the occurrence of acne. It is advisable to use a mild face wash or cleanser not more than twice a day to wash your face and keep it clean. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents on the skin to prevent breakouts of acne.

Over-the-counter creams, lotions and gels used in the treatment of acne are very insensitive on the skin as they contain properties which leave the skin dry and devoid of its natural moisture. This makes the condition of acne worse and also deepens acne scars. Only prescribed medication should be used for the treatment of acne as that will take care of the problem without leading to any unwanted side effects.
