The procedure is not safe for patients with cardiac problems because of excessive bleeding risk. There can be post-operative complications and the bleeding may be difficult to stop. Other complications can be clot colic and clot retention, injury to the urinary bladder wall, water intoxication, retrograde ejaculation, incontinence and stenosis of the neck of the bladder.
