Childhood Disorders - What All Should You Know?

These five are the most common childhood learning disability disorders. Dyslexia is where the child cannot read or comprehend the text and ADHD leads to the child unable to stay focused on any given task for more than a few minutes. When the math capabilities of the child are affected then it is called dyscalculia and dysgraphia prevents the child from writing. Making sense of sensory data is impeded when the child is affected by processing deficits.

This is a lifelong condition and cannot be cured. However, lots of therapies are available that ensure the child can continue education, attend school, and have a successful career.

It is not easy to doubt that the child has a disorder but there can be subtle signs. The child will not engage in a conversation by looking in the eyes. Even at 7 to 9 months, lack of head support in infants is considered a clear sign of a childhood disorder. However, if the parent is not keen on finding the developmental milestones, the disorder cannot be diagnosed easily.

The child gets to understand his or her mood, condition, feelings, and thoughts during the psychotherapy. He or she also learns to respond to the challenging situation. Along with the medications, psychotherapy is mandatory.
