Breast Cancer- Signs you must not ignore!

In a few cases, breast cancer spreads to the lymph nodes present around the collarbone or under the arms and pave the way for swelling and formation of lump. Such swelling usually happens even before the original tumor in the breast tissue is big enough to be felt. Do not ignore the constant pain in the breasts or enlargement of one breast. The swollen lymph nodes must be checked by any expert health care provider for a comprehensive treatment.

Although there is nothing to be anxious about, it is recommended to opt for regular screening tests to steer clear of any risks. Visiting the doctor can help in detecting breast cancer even before there are any noticeable symptoms. The health care provider shall ask personal questions and family history and request the patient to undergo some physical tests as well. Regular screening tests such as mammogram is the best way to ensure that there is no sign of breast cancer.

There are some signs of breast cancer that cannot be seen but may be felt such as a lump. This lump can be anywhere in the breast or chest or collar bone or armpit. It may be accompanied with abnormal thickening of the tissues in the breast along with mild to severe pain. If you are in the risk zone or have a family history of breast cancer, do not ignore regular check-ups. If there is any unexplained pain in and around the breast, approach a doctor.

Any variations in the color of the nipple or the direction of the nipple where one may protrude outwards while another one is inverted is a sure-shot sign of something unusual happening in the breast. Even though the alterations in the appearance of the nipple may not always be associated with cancer, they could be a sign of something serious and therefore need urgent care and consideration. Do not ignore self-tests for unusual signs.
