There is no medicine known to increase breast milk production. It is controlled by a complex mechanism of touch & pressure of breast leading to chain of hormones production resulting in breast milk secretion. In short it is demand & supply mechanism, more a child sucks more he gets Exclusive. Breast feed your child at least for first 5-6 months. You can express milk if child is unable to take due to any reason to ensure constant supply.

There is nothing like no milk. Whenever your baby sucks on breast there is release of certain harmones which produces milk. U can have tab perinorm 1 tab three times a day for 14 days & promolact granules 2 tsf with milk twice a day. Take plenty of fluids with atleast 1 litre milk in your diet, oats, balanced diet with fresh fruits & vegetables, dryfruits to have adequate milk production. Avoid consuming tea, alcohal, coffee, cold drinks while breastfeefing. Also take iron, calcium & protein supplements.

I am mother of 1 and half month old baby boy. My baby is born through emergency c sec due to prom. Almost just 5 days in 9th month of my pregnancy. So he was not able to latch properly for about 1 month. My family fed him with lactogen 1 using feeding bottle now after 1 month he is able to latch but he is so used to bottle that he does not want to take the effort of latching and wants to be fed easily and comfortably with bottle only and other main issue is my milk supply is extremely low. I tried lactonic granules. Now taking promolact capsules but as my baby does not latch and even if I feed him 40 min he is not satisfied. So I often stop feeding him and give him lactogen through out day. This making me lose breast milk suggest pls.

Hi! lybrate-user. 5 days into 9th month is around 35 weeks when latching can be taught to the baby now both the issues of the mothers milk and disinterest in sucking are both due to keeping the baby on formula feed. Hope you have continued the breast feeding through this one month also. It is said that milk production can be induced even in non pregnant female by stimulation. The stimulation includes sucking, cry, touch and baby care. Factors which improve breast milk 1. Fennel seeds 2. Plenty of water 3. Oats with fruit. Can make with fresh fruits 4. Ginger, garlic 5. All dry fruits 6. Adequate sleep 7. Emptying the breast every 2 hrs irrespective of amount of feed expressed. Constant stimulation is important you can keep the baby on breast before every feed. After that if baby is not drinking, can express with a pump and give. Even pumping is good stimulant.

Dear Manoj, I feel sorry that you are facing the problem of insufficient milk for baby . I would like to affirm here that God has has given every female milk glands that can produce milk enough to feed twins in each case. however, the production depends on how often and how much the breast is emptied each time the baby feeds. Once the baby is put on breast, let it suckle as long as it wants. When full, the baby will stop suckling and leave the breast of its own. The next time put on the other breast. If the baby is not suckling, the breast will not be emptied and new milk will not form . if top milk is given, the baby will not be hungry, will not suckle, breast will not be emptied and new milk will not form.
