Information about Lukoskin Ointment

Lukoskin Ointment is an ayurvedic medicine that is primarily used for the treatment of Vitiligo. Lukoskin was developed by the central government's premier research agency Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The ointment has seven herbal ingredients having properties such as photosensitization, anti-blister, anti-irritation, anti-septic, and wound healing properties, while the oral formulation is designed to improve the auto-immune system and supplement copper which checks the emergence of new spots.

Key Ingredients:

  • Jasmine
  • Kapikacchu- reduces free radical activity & prevents oxidative stress and damage
  • Tulsi- provides symptomatic relied on on in case of an allergic response
  • Bakuchi- acts on the immune system to modulate immunity.
  • Aloe vera- helps in soothing the inflammation and/or irritation of the mucous membrane. and it also acts as a moisturizing agent that is used for softening and soothing the skin.

Benefits:

  1. Activates Melanin synthesis- Helps in the release of SH-group bound copper as free copper, which activates tyrosinase activity.
  2. Modulates immunity- Modulates immunity in regard to both non-specific cellular and humoral immune responses.
  3. Exerts Photosensitisation- Helps to initiate erythema on the spots due to its furanocoumarin contents on exposure to UV light or sunlight.
  4. Enhances blister healing.
  5. Reduces irritation and the formation of blisters, checks hyperpigmentation in the skin.

How to use Lukoskin Ointment?

Apply gently on the spots once or twice a day. Apply the ointment from the pigmented area to the non-pigmented area i.e. from outside to inside. Expose the area after application of the ointment to the sun either before 11 a.m. or after 3 p.m., starting from 6 minutes with an increment period of 2-3 minutes per week till it reaches 30 minutes of exposure time.

General Precautions :

  1. Rinse the affected area with normal or lukewarm water.
  2. Gently wipe and cleanse the affected area before applying Aimil Lukoskin Ointment.
  3. After using Aimil Lukoskin Ointment apply a light cotton-gauze to protect clothes. Consult your doctor before covering the treated area.
  4. Avoid using excess Aimil Lukoskin Ointment. Follow the amount prescribed by your doctor strictly.
  5. Keep Aimil Lukoskin Ointment in a cool and dry place at below room temperature. Don't refrigerate the Aimil Lukoskin Ointment.
  6. You must talk to your doctor in case of an allergic reaction due to the Aimil Lukoskin Ointment.
  7. In case of pregnancy, the woman must consult her doctor before taking Aimil Lukoskin Ointment.
  8. Women, who are breastfeeding a newborn, should consult their doctor before taking Aimil Lukoskin Ointment.
  9. Skipping a dose of Aimil Lukoskin Ointment may increase the risk of infection.
  10. Do not use hot water on the affected area while using Aimil Lukoskin Ointment.

Kindly take avipattiakar churna, 1/2 tsf in half a glass of lue warm water before meals, twice a day. Take tab pigmento of charak pharma, 2 tabs twice a day with chitrakasava, 3 tsf in half a glass of luke warm water after meals. Take bakuchi powder, 1/2 tsf in luke warm water, 1 hr after meals. Apply cream lukoskin over the afffected area and sit in moderate or mild sunlight for 10-15 mins daily. Continue the regime for 2 months. Stop milk products, spicy food, jaggery, non veg food. Minimize intake of sugar and salt in your diet. Stay in touch. Good luck.

Skin whitening is called leucoderma. It can be very effectively treated with Ayurvedic da. U will have to first take a virechan and then start internal medicines. Apply cream lukoskin. U can msg me for detailed trwatment.

My father suffering from vitiligo. And take medicines from different side. But can not get any effect. What should we do. Will it possible to remove it completely?

Vitiligo becomes a little difficult to treat if it is chronic. If it has history of less than a year then you can try lukoskin of aimil pharma which gives excellent results.

I am 27 year old female, facing the problem of lekoderma since February 2017. For that I am taking alopathy medicines as well as lukoskin and pigmento tablet since 1 year. I have also taken vaman and virechana treatment of panchakrma in november 2017 (after it there was 25% improvement). So now should I take this panchakrma treatment again or anything else I should do.
