Phosphorus test is performed on a sample obtained from 24 hour urine collection to measure the level of Phosphorus in 24 hour urine. This test is done to confirm 1.Hyperphosphatemic Condition
2.Hypophosphatemic Condition
3.Kidney Stones
4. Hyperphosphatemic Condition

Factors that leads to lower urinary phosphorus excretion are:
1. low dietary phosphorus intake
2. insulin
3. high dietary potassium intake
4. decreased intestinal absorption of phosphorus.
