A toxoplasmosis test is performed to check:
1.If pregnant woman has antibodies from a toxoplasmosis infection.
2.If she has the IgG type of antibody, which will indicate an infection occurred in the past and the baby does not have a chance of getting infected.
3. If she has the IgM type of antibody, which will indicate an infection is recent and the baby does have a chance of getting infected.
4. Baby infected with toxoplasmosis.
