Tamfil S Capsule
Tamfil S Capsule is primarily used to treat kidney stones and symptoms including difficulty in urination, increased need to urinate at odd times and a weak stream. It is important that you brief the doctor about your medical history. Exercise caution if you have liver disease and low blood pressure.
The medication is composed of Tamsulosin and Deflazacort. The drg is an alpha-blocker and works by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so as to allow easy passage of urine. It also works by reducing inflammation in the kidneys to promote the passage of the stones through urine.
Doctor may prescribe Tamfil S Capsule in combination with other medications to treat related symptoms. The best effect can be seen if taken along with food. Patients must take it regularly in the prescribed dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor.

The drug is an antagonist to alpha-1A as well as alpha-1B-adrenoceptors within prostatic urethra, bladder neck, prostate and prostatic medicine. It also acts on glucocorticoid receptor and inhibits the chemical substances that cause inflammation and allergic reaction

Interaction with Medicine
- Alpha-adrenergic blockers; should not be used in combination with other alpha-adrenergic blocking agents.
- Warfarin: Use caution with concomitant administration of warfarin and Tamfil S Capsule.
- Cimetidine resulted in a significant decrease (26%) in the clearance of Tamfil S Capsulewhich resulted in a moderate increase in Tamfil S Capsule AUC (44%); therefore, use with caution when used in combination with cimetidine (especially doses >0.4 mg).
- No dosage adjustments necessary if administered with atenolol, enalapril, or Procardia XL®.
