This medication is composed of Methylcobalamin, commonly known as Vitamin B-12. A lack of this vitamin can cause severe and permanent neurological damage. It is used by patients who suffer from a gut disease where they are unable to completely absorb Methylcobalamin and may be at risk of vitamin B-12 deficiency.

The drug improves the functioning of the brain and nervous system. It is responsible for the protection and regeneration of neurons. The strips also come into use when you have low levels of vitamin B12 in your body, which causes you to feel weak, fatigued and experience slow thinking. This condition is called pernicious anemia.

The medication is primarily used for the following conditions:

The drug acts as a cofactor for enzyme methionine synthase, which transfers methyl groups for the regeneration of methionine from homocysteine. In anemia, it increases blood cell production by promoting nucleic acid synthesis in the bone marrow and by promoting maturation and division of erythrocytes.
