About Nervup Pg Capsule

Nervup capsule is a combination of pregabalin (an anticonvulsant), alpha-lipoic acid and methylcobalamin (also known as vitamin B-12) and is considered to be the first-line of treatment for neurotic pain, shingles, seizures and fibromyalgia.

This medicine is used for the treatment of diabetic nerve pain, epilepsy, spinal cord injury, restless leg syndrome and generalised anxiety disorder. This medication works by binding to a certain region of the brain and reducing the pain signals sent out by the damaged nerves of the body.

This medication is not recommended for you if you are pregnant, or have an allergic reaction towards any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have any of the following medical conditions before starting the medication:

  • If you have congestive heart failure, irregular heartbeat, diabetes, bleeding problems, muscle problems, highballed pressure or low platelet count.
  • If you have improper kidney functioning or are on dialysis.
  • If you have a history of angioedema.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to be pregnant or are breastfeeding.
  • If you take any other medicines, dietary supplements or herbal preparations.
  • If you have mental or mood problems, suicidal thoughts, or are dealing with depression.

The initial dose for Nervup Pg Capsule is usually 50 mg, taken orally 3 times a day. the dosage can later be increased depending on efficacy and tolerability.

It plays a key role in the functioning of the Brain and Nervous system and the formation of the Red Blood Cells. Also, it is responsible for the protection and regeneration of Neurons. This medicine also fights against the degenerative cell condition called Multiple sclerosis. It acts as a stress reliever for the body and minds.

    How does this medication work?

    This medicine is a GABA analog and binds to the voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This causes a reduced release of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, substance P thus slowing down nerve signals. It also acts as a cofactor for enzyme methionine synthase, which transfers methyl groups for the regeneration of methionine from homocysteine. Lastly, it plays a significant part in oxidative decarboxylations. These decarboxylations take place of the keto acids. It is present for the growth of organisms. Alpha Lipoic Acid is present as two enantiomers-R-enantiomer and S-enantiomer.
