This medication falls under the category of drugs called prokinetic. It functions by enhancing gastrointestinal mobility. This provides relief to gastrointestinal issues such as abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting. Apart from this, heartburn, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, gastritis and functional dyspepsia.

In case any of these effects persist or worsen over time contact your health care provider immediately. On using this medication you may experience a few side effects such as

The dosage for this medication should be ideally prescribed by your doctor based on your condition. The usual dosage in adults is about 5 mg which needs to be taken thrice a day.
