Longifene-Ds Tablet is a drug of antihistamine nature. It can also be termed as a anti-vertigo, central nervous system depressant or an anticholinergic drug. It can be used to treat patients suffering motion sickness especially with the symptoms of gastric pain, dizziness, nausea, vomiting and headaches. It may interfere with natural lactation and therefore it is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers. While the exact mechanism of action of Longifene-Ds Tablet is not known it is believed that its anti cholinergic properties are responsible for the anti emetic and anti vertigo effects
Longifene-Ds Tablet is contraindicated in patients who have suffered or are suffering from Reye’s syndrome, closed angle glaucoma, gastrointestinal obstruction, Prostatic hyperplasia and hypersensitivity to Longifene-Ds Tablet. Apart from drowsiness, which is the most frequent and common side effect of the drug, other possible side effects like blurred vision, nervousness, upset stomach, headache, dryness of mouth, nose and throat can also manifest. The drug has also been found to interact with certain other drugs like amphetamine, benzephetamine, etc. to cause health complications. Therefore it is suggested to consult with a doctor regarding the dosage of Longifene-Ds Tablet that will be appropriate for you based on your medical history and existing health conditions.
