About Chloride Test

A chloride is an electrolyte present in the human body that helps in maintaining a proper fluid and acid-base balance in the body. A Chloride blood test is used to detect the abnormal blood chloride levels which help the physicians in diagnosing certain health conditions. Physicians usually ask to monitor other electrolytes level as well along with chloride to monitor diseases related to kidney, heart, liver, and also high blood pressure. This is done because it is very important to have a proper balance between all the electrolytes so that your muscles, nerves, and heart can function normally and whether the electrolytes are in perfect balance or not can be determined by this test only. If lately, you have been facing problems related to excessive fatigue, frequent vomiting, prolonged diarrhea, breathing problems or muscle weakness then you may be required to undergo the chloride blood test.
