The most common medical term used for Eye Inflammation is Blepharitis that can affect people with any age group. It's a bacterial infection and is not contagious. Scaly dandruff like substance appears on the eyelids. In acute cases, it may affect the cornea and ultimately the vision. Usually patients suffering from burning sensation in eyes, itchiness, swelling eyelids, blurred vision, excessive tears, dry eyes, etc should immediately consult an ophthalmologist. Exposure to harmful chemicals, allergens, diabetes, dermatitis, oily skin and acne are some of the reasons that can cause inflammation.
