About Glucose 6 Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD Qualitative) Test

Glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase which can also be termed as G6pd is a test is a metabolic disorder which is an enzyme defect that results in the breakdown red blood cells also known as Haemolysis caused by some bacterial infection or medicinal side-effects. Deficiency of G6pd leads to the early destruction of red blood cells also known as acute haemolytic anaemia. G6pd is a common metabolic error in a human body, the seriousness of the symptoms of G6pd deficiency vary among individual to individual depending upon the disorders from a person is suffering.
