About Alcaftadine

Alcaftadine is an antihistamine used to prevent irritation in eyes due to allergic conjunctivitis, or other factors like dust, pollution and pollen. It works on the histamines, blocking their action which in turn, reduces the eye symptoms.

Alcaftadine should not be used if you have an allergy to the medicine or any ingredient in it. It is advised that you consult a doctor before taking Alcaftadine if you use contact lenses, are on any medicines or any suppements, or if you are pregnant, or you plan on becoming pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding.

The side effects of Alcaftadine are redness in eyes or icthing, headache, runny nose, flu symptoms, sore throat, irritation or mild burning. If any of these symptoms persist or if you experience any allergic reactions you should immediately see a doctor.

Alcaftadine is available in 5ml bottles. The recommended dosage is a single drop for each eye once everyday for a period of time prescribed by the doctor.
