About Brucella IgG Antibody Test

To detect whether the patient is having brucellosis, Brucella lgG and lgM antibody tests are done. Brucella is a type of bacteria which causes infection in the dog, swine, sheep, goat, and other types of domestic animals. In human body too, Brucella lgG and lgM antibodies are produced against the Brucella infection and with the determination of these antibodies, the Brucella infection is detected. The Brucella infection is transmitted to human by dairy products and unpasteurized milk. The other factors for the transmission of Brucella infection are direct contact with the infected animal and airborne agent’s inhalation. A blood test is carried for detecting the Brucella infection.
