Calci-M Tablet contains Calcium Citrate Maleate, Vitamin D3, Magnesium & Zinc Tablet.

Calcium Citrate malate show higher water solubility & offers highly bioavailable calcium.Calcium plays a very important role in the body. It is necessary for normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscle, and bone. If there is not enough calcium in the blood, then the body will take calcium from bones, thereby weakening bones. Thus intake of Calcium is necessary to keep the bones strong.
Vitamin D3 that is used in the absorption of calcium in the blood. Vitamin D3 helps in processing of essential minerals in the body like Calcium and Phosphorus. Lack of Vitamin D3 results in bone weakening, bone pain, and skin diseases.
Other minerals like Zinc, magnesium are necessary for bone mineralization and bone matrix formation

Sir, some time I feel heaviness in my knees. One year back I was facing sane problem, with exercise I remained comfortable. I am 46 years old. Daily I cover mobile steps as per work requirement. Calci d3 one sachet is bring taken by me once in a month as advised by doctor. I am worried sometime. Is it because if some eating habit as all if sudden I start facing, though it is mild in feeling. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. Stiffness might have developed due to weakness of the ligaments & inflammed cartilage. Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee.

I scan in 06-07-10 the right kidney size 11.2 * 5.2 cms in long axis. Presence of 2-3 small calculi seen in the middle pole each measuring about 4mms in the size the left kidney size 10.3 * 5.9 cms in long axis no evidence of any calci and I scan 08-12-12 the right kidney size 10.2* 4.0 cms in long axis. Presence of 3 calculi are seen in the lower pole each measuies 3 _ 4 mms in size the left kidney size 10.0* 4.7 cms in long axis no evidence of any calculi my question 1. The variation of kidney is a problem or not? 2. The small size calculi so it's easily dissolved or not? 3. The medicine will use the calculi dissolved or release in my urine way? thank you.

Hi, thanks for writing in to us. I have read through your query in detail. Please find my observations below. 1. There can be slight variation in measurement of kidney when measured by doctors using different machines. There is a concern only when kidney size is less than 8.0 cms in length. Your kidneys are normal in both scans. 2. There are 3 stones in the lower pole of right kidney. These are small and can be dissolved by drinking adequate water and also reducing acidic urine. 3. There is a medicine called alkasol which will reduce acidity in urine and decrease the chance of stone formation and growth. This is a liquid and can be taken for a short duration of 5 days as 15 ml in a glass of water taken three times a day when you get any pain in kidney area or burning urination. Regards,

Calcium Supplements like Shelcal ( for elderly) and Calci max suspension(for children) contain Calcium carbonate as one of the main components.People say that one should avoid these supplements as the Calcium carbonate present in these can cause stones after a period of time. If this is true, kindly advise alternate calcium supplements for elderly as well as children which are totally safe.

These supplements are safe as long as they are given in prescribed doses for a specific duration for a specific deficiency. If there is a diagnosed deficiency of any nutrient, it has to be evaluated and then correction given. These are drugs and no one should use any drug for prolonged durations in unspecified doses.
