It specifically acts on allergies caused in the skin, blood vessels and airways leading to the lung. Ambroxol is an agent that causes diffusion of thick mucus. Uncontrolled quantity of nitric oxide (NO) is related to inflammation and other kinds of disruptions of the functioning of the airways. Ambroxol inhibits the activation of guanylate cyclase which is nitric oxide-dependent. Phenylephrine is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist belonging to the phenethylamine class, which acts as a nasal decongestant. It works by narrowing the swelling of blood vessels in the ear and nose, thereby providing great relief from discomfort.
