Hi,

I am Dr. Preeti Singh, Pediatrician, Svasthya Child And Cardiac Care, Gurgaon. Today I will talk about nutritional deficiency in children. If your child is complaining of poor concentration, episodes of weakness, fainting, diarrhea, constipation, abnormal menstrual issues or there has been a change in the behaviour your child is suffering from nutritional deficiency. This can be because of diet in the particular nutrient or our body is not able to retain that nutrient because of some disease.

So, nutrients divided into 2 major groups: micronutrients which include carbohydrates, proteins, and fats which are needed for bodybuilding process and the energy and micronutrients like vitamins and minerals which are needed for small enzymatic process in the body. All these work for proper body functioning of the body. If your child complains about similar issues, please visit a Dr because many of the conditions can be diagnosed on the basis of examining the child and some may need a few special tests or proper diagnosis. And if diagnosed on time, a proper supplement of that particular nutrient can help in long term management.

Thank You.
