Depression and stress can be because of thinking pattern.Person has ruminating thought.Patient get depressed because he/she does one mistake.She/he believes that thoughts are facts.When he/she learns to do mindfulness meditation she realizes that thought is only mental event it is not fact.Because of this realization her reaction to that thought get minimized Stress or depression is outcome of reaction to the thoughts and as reaction is low ,stress or depression can be controlled.
