Hi,

I am Dr. Abhigyan Mukherjee, Dermatologist. Today I will talk about acne. There are some do's and don'ts for acne and lots of myth about the same. Acne is not a disease, its a physiological condition. Lots of people think that this problem is because of food but it is not. There are 4 main grades of acne. We can treat them with topical creams.

For grade 2, we combine topical and oral medicines. Few procedures can also be done like extraction of acne. Chemical peel we do to get rid of acne. For non-inflammatory acne, we do microdermabrasion. Do not prick your acne as that will lead to scars. Do not eat a very high glycemic index food. Avoid sweets and manage your stress level. So, always consult a dermatologist for your treatment. For any help or query, you can contact me through Lybrate.

Thank You!
