Treatment for Gastritis

Although gastritis may seem more like a simple chronic irritation than a serious disorder, if left untreated for too long it could lead to serious complications. In fact, gastritis that has been left untreated or has not been resolved over a long period of time has also been seen to develop into stomach cancer. In the long run, gastritis will also result in anemia and severely weaken your body.

Gastritis manifests in multiple forms within multiple people and although there are some common symptoms through which gastritis can be diagnosed, many people have reported not facing any major outwardly symptoms such as stomach pain and nausea in the early stages. Gastritis is usually caused by the inflammation of the lining of mucous membrane of the stomach. This membrane may itself dissolve away causing damage to the lining of the stomach and thus resulting in pain. This is usually caused by bad diets, which comprise of fatty and spicy foods. Peppermint is a good antacid as it dissipates the built up of acid and can reduce inflammation quickly to relieve symptoms.

Fruits tend to be rich in natural acids that will encourage and promote the secretion of even more stomach acid. This will only lead to a worsening of the symptoms of gastritis. Certain fruits and vegetables such as oranges, tomatoes among others can aggravate the symptoms of gastritis as they are rich in many types of acid. If you have been diagnosed with gastritis ensure that you consult your doctor to know which fruits or vegetable to avoid.
