PCOD Treatment With Panchakarma!

Raktamokshan is a Panchkarma treatment procedure for PCOD which helps shrink and remove the pimply outgrowth that is characteristic of the disease. Shirodhara is an Ayurvedic treatment, the word roots of which lie in shiro meaning head and dhara meaning flow pathway . This treatment looks to integrate the physical and mental processes of the body together in a healthy whole. Therefore, it is helpful for the mental effects of the physical PCOD, like depression and stress. This treatment is done by pouring warmed oil on the forehead and scalp of the patient. There are types of Shirodhara, like Jalradhara (water flow) and Tailadhara (oil flow).

In Shirodhara treatment, fluids like oil are used to open the patient s third eye , located in the forehead area. Also, the 3rd eye of Hindu god Shiva is opened through head massages, which is a Marma based treatment. Marma refers to any exposed part of the body that is more vulnerable to infection and/or injury than others, and the head is affected both internally (depression) and externally (hair fall) in PCOD. Therefore, Marma treatment seeks to help the head.

Full body massages are used as an initiation treatment in Panchkarma for PCOD. This is done combined with the application of steam on the body. Massage and steam treatment are done right after consulting a physician, and before beginning the real treatment.
