Impaired Hearing - How Pain Relievers Can Cause?

Earwax can impair hearing because if the earwax glands start making excess wax that lead to blocking ear passages. While cleaning ears, the wax may get pushed farther worsening the blockage. But the hearing loss due to earwax block is temporary and can be treated by cleaning ears with painless and quick methods.

Females and young children usually have voices with high frequency. Hence, high-frequency hearing loss causes people to miss out on the voices of women and small children. Train horns, factory machinery, television, lawn mower etc. emit sounds with low frequency and hence, can be heard by people even with hearing loss.

The two main parts of the middle ear implant is one that is attached to the skin and the one that is placed under the skin. The device that is placed under the skin, picks up signals from the ear and transmits them to the small bones of the middle ear to vibrate them. The device placed on the skin, picks up sound waves and converts them into electrical signals.

Moderate to severe hearing loss implies that the patient cannot hear sounds less than 80 dB. Such sounds include normal conversation, sound of a washing machine, whispers and alike. Heavy sounds like the ones coming from heavy traffic, lawn mower, hand drill, motorbike, ambulance siren, jet engine, shotgun blast or rocket launch may be the cause of impaired hearing.
