Breast Cancer - How To Manage It?

Breast cancer that is not metastatic can be treated by surgery. But if cancer has spread to other parts of the body, treatments such as Hormone Therapy, Biological Therapy and Chemotherapy are required.

Stage 0 is the earliest stage of breast cancer, also known as in situ or non-invasive breast cancer. As the name suggests, this is a type of cancer which is concentrated within the breast and has not spread beyond the originating point. Stage 0 Breast Cancer is absolutely curable. Stage 1 and Stage 2 are also early stages of Breast Cancer. The former refers to a condition where the cancer has not spread beyond the breast and the latter refers to a condition where the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes.

The chances of developing Breast Cancer cannot be eliminated. But it can be managed. Some of the preventive measures include eating healthy, exercising and staying in shape, refraining from smoking and drinking among other things. In other words, lead a healthy lifestyle, stay alert (check for lumps or development of questionable symptoms around your breasts regularly) and keep Breast Cancer at bay.

Menstrual Cycle has got nothing to do with the development of Breast Cancer. Menopause doesn t denote that one is safe from the risks of developing Breast Cancer. On the contrary a woman above 55 should get regular checkups, especially mammograms in order to remain healthy. After all, aging people tend to develop cancer.
