    Mr. Lybrate-user, if all the other parameters are normal and you have no major complaints, then there is no reason to worry in terma of slight variation cholesterol levels (not mentioned). Continue your healthy lifestyle and regular medication. Do not change or take drastic step of stopping current medications, that may be harmful. Keep away from alcohol and smoking, you will remain healthy and fit. Best of health.

    Answer to your questions are not so easy that can be given in few words. Your Diabetologist and Cardiologist are best persons who can give you effective advice.

    Possibly your diet is to be adjusted by a dietitian under supervision of your Diabetologist. You might need more calorie but avoiding increase of CHO and Fat component of your diet. Your protein quantity may have to be increased, of course if your Kidney function is alright.

    It should be continued life long unless there is some problem.
    Like all medications, statins can cause side effects.
