Atomoxetine is the chemical or generic name for Axepta. The drug is prescribed for correcting certain brain disorders, particularly, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The drug helps in enhancing the levels of noradrenaline, a substance in the brain that is crucial for the neurotransmitters to function better. The dosage of the drug is linked to the body weight of the person. Side effects like decreased appetite, anorexia, dizziness, irritability, or fatigue may be experienced.

My son is 5 years old , he is facing ADHD problem, and doctor prescribed a medication Axepta 10 mg , is it safe to use the medicine at this age, is there any particular diet for this problem, or is there any alternative medication . Please guide me.

Every medicine has some side effects but do not worry on this account, if Dr. has prescribed the medicine , cont it for some time and see the effect. Do not be in hurry to stop the medicine , it is good medicine and will have positive effect, so carry on .
In addition do following
Change his routine
1.Get up early in the morning
2. Give him a glass of warm water
3. Take him for a walk for 30 mts 4.do deep breathing exercise for 10 mts

I have been told I suffer from OCD which is resistant to medicines. That means medicines won't help me. What do I do? When I started medicines for OCD I was told I have to take them for only 6 months but now it's more than 10 years and I still am told to take medicines. I wonder if they aren't curing me why should I take them? At present I take Serta (100) 1-0-2; Axepta (25) 1-0-0; Zapiz (0.5) 1-1-1; Fluanxol (0.5) 1-1-1; Amitone (25) 1-1-0. Inspite of all these I wash hands too much. Skin on my hands hurts. Also I have been told these medicine have side-effects and they can harm liver & kidneys in the long run. Is there any way to live without medicines and also get rid of OCD?
