ihc cytoplasmic igm with interpretation Test

Immunohistochemistry or IHC is a test that studies the antigens in tissues and blood cells of a person. It is performed and studied to diagnose lesions as well as tumours in the lymphoid systems. The intracellular cytoplasmic immunoglobulin M or IgM antibody in the cells of an individual leads to the development of leukaemia. The IHC is necessary for detecting these antibodies and determining their extent in the blood. The treatment for the disease depends upon the results of this test. The doctor can also study the effects of the treatment process through the results.

No special preparation is required for this test. You have to provide a specimen of your tissue for the sample. Wear clothing that is suitable for the process. Consult your healthcare practitioner regarding the dosage of medicines that you take on a daily basis. The medicines and OTC drugs that can interfere with the results need to be avoided. The doctor will suggest you any required changes depending upon your medical condition.

The IHM Cytoplasmic IgM test is used to study the presence and composition of IgM antibodies in the tissues and cells. It is very useful in detecting the risk of leukaemia as it investigates the presence of IgM antigens in the leukemic cells. It also helps in diagnosing the hematopoietic disorders. It reveals the condition of cellular antigens and informs if they are lost. It is also used to determine in antigens connected to a cell. It identifies the cells which are associated with inflammatory lesions.

The doctor draws out a tissue from any part of your body for this test. The process follows the staining method wherein the tissue is first deparaffinized. It is then rehydrated and the primary antibody is introduced in it to study the reactions. Once the doctor has noted the appropriate findings from the primary antibody, the secondary antibodies conjugated to enzyme are applied. The reactions of this and the prior information are combined to infer the results of the test.
