CT Scan - Extremities Test

CT scan at times also known as CAT scanning is a noninvasive, unproblematic health test that helps doctors analyze and treat medical disorders. CT scan uses the distinct x-ray machine to generate many images of the internal body and a laptop/computer to link them organized in cross-sectional sights of the part being considered. There are no restraints on food or drink for this test. Females would have to take off bras having metal underwire. CT scan of the Lower Extremities is used to take 2-5mm images of a particular portion of leg(s), from the hip joint to the tips of toes.

Here it is: Arrive 30 minutes before booked time. Fill up a short history form. Rest on a table attached to the CT scanner. The scanner is a large round shaped machine with a big hole in the mid through which the table will slide. Your position on the table would be according to the body part being scanned. An intravenous (IV) line would be injected into hands or arms of the contrast media to save you from any side-effect of the different procedure. After this, initial scans of the area in question are taken. These are named scout images. Next, ensue with the primary test. Images will then be attained. When the scans are complete, the table will be placed out of the scanner, and you will be permitted to sit up.
