Allergy - Rhinitis Panel Test

Allergy - Rhinitis Panel Test

Rhinitis allergy is one of the most common allergic reactions that are present in the world. With air, dust and other chemical reactions happening in your nose as you inhale, lead your immune system to work against them. This attack of the immune system leads to the creation of antibodies and an allergic reaction that cause symptoms like sneezing, coughing, chest congestion and so on. But they are the usual symptoms of a chest infection or flu as well. So the possibility of the test is solely dependent on the fact that the treatment is not working against the disease.

There are no special preparations required before the test. It is your symptoms that the doctor will check before suggesting what you should do and what you shouldn’t. One must carefully handle the instructions given by the doctor for a better result. If the direction is not followed, it will not only make the symptoms severe but also the accuracy of the test may be altered. Moreover, since it is a blood test, so comfortable clothing should be worn. It will make it easy for the doctor to take the blood sample.

As stated above, this test is used to detect the presence of IgE antibodies in the blood against the rhinitis allergy. It is one of the only ways to know that if you are having allergic symptoms or it’s some other illness. The test result will be positive if there are IgE antibodies (> 100kU/l) available in the blood. This value may be different if you choose another lab. In such case, the doctor will see the severity of the allergy and start the treatment. The test result will be negative if there are no IgE antibodies present in the blood.

Enzyme Assay method on a Blood sample is used for the Rhinitis allergic test. First of all the skin and the needle is disinfected with the help of alcohol. Then an elastic band is warped around the elbow so that the veins can be visible. Then the needle is injected into the vein, and the blood is collected into the tube attached to the needle. The elastic band is unwrapped, and cotton is pressed in the place where the needle is injected to control and stabilize the blood flow. The tube is sealed with your name on it, and the sample is sent to the lab for the test.
