People who are allergic to this tablet can suffer rashes, shortness of breath, swelling of tongue and face. In some cases, it can cause severe side effects like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, blood rashes etc. You must immediately go to doctor and perform tests in these cases.
Before performing the test, you need to tell the doctor if you are taking some medications. This is because the medicines you have taken might interfere with the results of the allergy test. Especially, you must not take antihistamines for 3 days before the test for the above said reason. You also need to tell the doctor if you had anaphylaxis which is a life threatening allergy reaction.
The test does not cause any serious problems. After getting the test results, the doctor can identify the allergy causing agents. The next step is examining whether the allergy can be stopped by avoiding those allergy causing substances. The doctor will prescribe medication which will cure the allergy in due time.
This test is done on adults in the forearm and for children in the upper back. The child is asked to lie down on their stomach. The doctor decides what tests need to be performed on you.The test starts from the doctor putting drops of a fluid in a row.The doctor puts a light scratch under each drop. The fluids are actually the proteins from the allergens. The doctor marks the area where the drop is placed using a chart or writing the code on that area. The patient is asked to sit for 20 minutes and is not allowed the touch or scratch the area even if it is itchy.
