Allergy Bay leaf test is performed on a blood sample to measure the level of IgE Antibodies in the blood. It is performed to confirm the Bay leaf Laurus Nobilis Allergy during and after the treatment of the same. Bayleaf is widely used as a natural remedy for many problems but it has side-effects that may be fatal on excess use of it. It may cause problems in pregnancy, may increase hypoglycemic effects and due to which cause insulin. In rare cases, it causes asthma too.
No special preparation is required for Allergy Bayleaf Enzyme assay blood. Patient is required to wear a sleeveless top/shirt or the one in which the sleeves can be rolled up easily as the blood is drawn put from the patient directly.
The test is conducted to check if the patient is allergic to the Bayleaf Laurus Nobilis Allergy. If the values in the test result are >100Uk/l for all age groups and sex then the patient is non- allergic. Otherwise the patient is allergic and should treat themselves as told by the doctor.
About 0.2 milliliters of blood is drawn out from the patient’s body. The blood is centrifuged to serum as the test requires serum specifically. The serum is collected in a red-top or gel-barrier tube and sent to the laboratory for examination. The sample is then tested by the Enzyme Assay method which involves detection of allergen specific IgE in the blood sample.
