About Levorid D Tablet

Levorid tablet, in combination with nasal decongestant, belongs to the drug group called antihistamine that helps to relieve the symptoms like runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, sneezing, hives that are usually related to all-year round as well as seasonal allergies.

The dosage of this medication depends on your age, severity of your condition, medical history and your body’s reaction after the first dose. Your doctor should be informed about your medical history and condition, along with certain conditions like pregnancy, allergies, enlarged prostate or a kidney disease before you are prescribed to this medicine.     How does this medication work?

    This medication selectively inhibits the peripheral H1 receptors thereby reducing the histamine levels in the body. It specifically acts on allergies caused in the stomach and intestine, blood vessels and airways leading to the lung. Also, the drug works on alpha adrenergic receptors to a great extent and alpha adrenergic receptors to a lesser extent. This drug stimulates beta2-adrenergic receptors and de-stresses bronchial smooth muscle, thereby ameliorating the symptoms of nasal/sinus congestion.
