Blood tests for Epstein Barr Virus antibodies are used to detect and diagnose EBV infection , which is the most common cause of Infectious Mononucleosis (mono). Infectious Mononucleosis or mono refers to a group of symptoms caused by Epstein Barr Virus (EBV). It generally is found more in teenagers. The virus only spreads through saliva and hence nicknamed as ‘Kissing Disease’.
