Most people avoid taking antibiotics and pain killers unless the problem is severe or because their stomach hurts as some dental treatments last long. Make sure that you complete the entire course of analgesics and antibiotics as prescribed because a MIC (minimal inhibitory concentration) is required for the bad bugs to be killed to control the infection and similarly SOS use of painkillers should not be restricted if pain persists; rather additional entire course for a day or two is advisable.
