I am 23 year old, and have very bad asthma problem. Tried many sort of treatment but switched again back to inhalers. Was having problem of eczema & childhood which was treated through allopathic treatment at that time I didn't had asthma problem. But later after shifting to kerala my asthma problem started & used to take inhalers. Wen I was 17 I went for Ayurveda treatment with so much of restricted time table for certain food items for 2 year & I got better at initial stage I got all my allergy on my skin which so hard but doctor was saying thats to get cured with it. & only if I cure the inner allergy I would get better of asthma. I was so thin at that time & we I started curing asthma I also had put on my weight n was happy to get changed with better immunity. But suddenly I got a throat infection which really was under treated n he strictly advised not to take antibiotics which made it return frequently n I had developed a swelling on my leg n wen I went through a blood test I got aso titre so high. Which made me discontinue his treatment n I started taking pencillin400 n reduced d doses n now cured it completely but my asthma had returned severely. Then another blood test developed d problem of hypothyroidism. I started taking thyrox 150 n now d dose of 50. For this after 2 yrs I consulted a homeo doctor which was a nightmare for me as he said asthma is linked with thyroid problem n asked if I had any skin problem I said before I had he then prescribed some medicines n wid in a few days I got a bad itching on my fingers ful flare ups whole over my body oozing n weeping legs n hands I cant even sleep at night due to itching n that doctor was sounding angrily wen I saying my problem. N after 6 months also I dint cured n again went for an allopathic dermatologist n cured it. I just want to know if thyroid n asthma problem is linked n is it compulsory dat if I take treatment for asthma in Ayurveda or homeopathy I will have to face a tough time for my skin. Please doctors do reply. I really want to take your advice n go a head for treatment. Can hypothyroidism can b cured. N asthma also with out a flare ups n allergy break out?

Hello Dr. My mother (age - 56 ) is suffering from joints pain and muscles pain since last 2-3 months. The pain is unbearable. She can't walk without holding any support and even can't stand for sometime. Some times she becomes aggressive n speaks very harsh words bluntly. She often forgets many things she has done or spoken. She has thyroid disorder since last 15 years n she was taking a tablet (Thyroxine Sodium Tablets IP, THYROX - 25 ) regularly in the morning empty stomach and she was doing very well with this medication. Now, 3 months before when she had these types of pains we consulted our family physician where her routine checkup had being done on regular basis as directed by the physician. We got some blood tests like Haemogram report, Renal Function, Arthritis Profile, Thyroid Function Test done for it. And the results says : Hemoglobin : 11.3 gm% R.B.C. : 4.18 mill./cu. Mm. W.B.C. : 7820/cu. Mm Platelet. : 3,06,000/ cu. Mm. polymorph. : 70% Lymphocytes : 25% eosinophil. : 02% monocyte. : 03% basophil. : 00% P.C.V. : 35.1% M.C.V. : 83. 97fl M.C.H. : 27.03 pg M.C.H.C. : 32.19% R.D.W. : 14.9% E.S.R. (Automated ) After one hour : 90 mm Serum Creatinine. : 0.99 mg/dl Uric acid : 6.41 mg% RA Test (Quantitative ) : 109.9 IU/ml Serum FT4 Estimation : 14.12 pmol/L Serum U/S TSH Estimation : 12.30 ulU/ml Our family physician proscribed the below medicines for it - Tab Thyrox 50 mcg 1-0-0 empty stomach Tab HCQS 200 (10) 0-1-0 Tab Etova-P 400 (30) 1-0-1 Tab Imutrex 7.5 (4) 0-0-1 every Friday Tab liquid-D3 (4) 0-0-1 every Friday She had completed the course of the above medicines. But there is no result. She has continue her Thyroid Tab as the physician said. We had also consulted other physicians. Some of them said the arthritis problem is because of Thyroid disorder, if she takes Thyroid Tab regularly n do routine checkup regularly then everything will be fine after few months. Some said she needed to take the Thyroid Tab of 50 mcg when she was taking it of 25 mcg. But our family physician never proscribed the 50 mcg Tab before this. Now here is my question Dr. Is/was my mother going under correct/right medication. Is her Thyroid Tab of 50 mcg is okk according to her report I've mentioned above. Shall we go for Ayurveda or naturopathic treatment for her arthritis problem. Give some suggestions for the problem. I will be thankful to you if you can proscribe some medication or remedies or any other treatments for her. Thanks a lot. Regards, Hiral Patel.

Thyroid disorders are supposed to chronic problems which may last throughout life. But the good thing is management is easy once the diagnosis is made properly & medication like eltroxin/thyrox are cheap too. Only things you have to do is follow lifestyle modification instructions given by your physician, do routine investigations of serum t3, t4 & tsh (at least every 3 months) and stick to the dose adjustment protocol of the drug. Thank you.

Dear , I do understand your predicament. Your tsh and t3, t4 levels are what we call as subclinical hypothyroidism which does not require treatment in most people.
Do however check your thyroid profile once every year. Head spinning problem I think it might be vertigo or syncope. For which you will have to give us a few more details.

Hello, we have self made specialised medicine prepared for complete management of thyroid. It includes correction of weight, stopping hair fall and alleviating other symptoms such as weakness, lethargy, increased sleep, etc. This is how this treatment minimizes dependence on artificial hormones and stimulates thyroid gland to produce it's own natural hormone. At the same time, this treatment increases metabolic rate thereby helping maintain good weight over long term.
